  • Are a blogs statistics accurate?

I’m a little confused if i must say so, every time i log on to check what’s happening on my blog I find more and more page views and total visitors. I mean, if the numbers are accurate them I’m kind of flattered that so many people view my blog, its nice to know my rabid ramblings are reaching someone out there instead of clogging up what I already think is an overly congested internet.

Anyway my point is this, are the numbers on the statistics page accurate?

Id like to test this by requesting that anyone that views this post, posts a comment, it can be anything, just say hi or meh or weeeee or even “you suck stop clogging up our interweb”.

Looking forward to seeing the results of my little experiment 

  • Firefox 3 b4 Review

I recently downloaded the new beta of Firefox to give it a whirl and i must say i have mixed feelings about it. The initial install is, like always with Mozilla, nice and simple.

When the browser opens you’re greeted with a revised address bar on the top of your screen and a nice shiny website that tells you all about the new features. The new address bar is kinda nice, but this is where my first issue is. Therese no home button... I spent ages looking through the other menus and options and I can’t seem to find how to add a home button to the address bar! I’ve now had to resort to using the Alt+home shortcut on my keyboard but this isn’t ideal for a brand new web browser.

the new address bar has a host of new icons and all in all I like the new style, the back and forward buttons seem more "correct" and the addition of the bookmark button inside the address is nice.

Other new features that impressed me were the new way Firefox handles bookmarks and history. It uses kind of a browser style so you can search sort and filter all of your bookmarks and history.

as for stability, the only time I’ve found that Firefox crash’s is when i go to yahoo.co.uk and try to access my email, it doesn’t seem to like some of the effects on the yahoo page, but hey... its a beta.

All in all I like it, its faster than FF2 and much easier and nicer to use than IE7 (and don’t get me started on IE8).

So there you have it, my first product review :), more to come soon.

  • Give me an idea!

Like normal I’m sat at work bored wondering what I can do with my time, and before you say anything I have finished all my work for today :).

So I put this to the community, I would like you guys to come up with an idea for a small application for me to design in c#. I’m relatively skilled in this language and i can incorporate a mysql database if needed.

So, please post your ideas as comments or mail me them privately. If I choose to make an application, the person that puts the idea forward will claim full credit for the idea.

    Hope to hear from you
